Under the Chief Minister Mass Marriage Scheme, the state government organizes a grand program by providing financial assistance for the marriage of marriageable girls and widowed/abandoned/divorced women of needy/destitute families living in poverty as per their social/religious beliefs, customs and traditions. The marriage is solemnized. The objective of Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme is to promote social harmony and equality of all religions in the society. Under the scheme, an amount of Rs. 51,000/- is spent per couple by the Uttar Pradesh government, out of which Rs. 35,000/- is transferred to the bank account of the girl (bride) for happiness in her married life and establishment of a household and an amount of Rs. 10,000/- Gift material worth Rs. /- is given to the bride and groom and an amount of Rs. 6,000/- is spent in grandeur of organizing the ceremony.

Eligibility criteria for the scheme
- The girl’s parents should be natives of Uttar Pradesh.
- The parents of the girl/girl should be destitute, poor and needy.
- The annual income limit of the applicant’s family should be maximum Rs. 2,00,000/-.
- In applying for marriage, the age of the daughter must be 18 years or more on the date of marriage and the age of the groom must also be 21 years on the date of marriage. School educational records, birth certificate, voter ID card, MNREGA job card, Aadhar card will be valid to confirm age.
- The girl should be unmarried or widow, abandoned/divorcee who has been legally divorced and is to be remarried.
- Applicants belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class will have to submit caste certificate.
- widows, daughters of disabled parents and girls who are themselves disabled.
